    Modi reaffirms India’s support for peace in Ukraine at UNGA

    MENA Newswire News Desk: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), continuing discussions on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. The meeting, held on September 23, 2024, marked their third encounter in recent months, following talks at the G7 summit in Italy and Modi’s visit to Ukraine.

    Modi reaffirms India’s support for peace in Ukraine at UNGA

    During the meeting, Modi reiterated India’s consistent stance on supporting a peaceful resolution to the war.     As global concerns about food security and energy supplies grow, the meeting between Modi and Zelensky also underscored the broader geopolitical implications of the war. Modi’s government has been pushing for multilateral dialogue on these pressing issues, with India playing an increasingly influential role in addressing global challenges such as climate change and economic recovery. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact as efforts to end the conflict continue, signaling India’s commitment to fostering dialogue and peaceful negotiations in the international arena.
